MSSN celebrates one-day Lagos governor



The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit, celebrates the 2024 One-Day Governor of Lagos State and champion of the 20th Spelling Bee Competition, Abdulazeez Abdulrahmon.

A congratulatory statement was made during the Society’s monthly executive meeting at its secretariat in Yaba.

The President, MSSN Lagos, Mr Kamoldeen Abiona, lauded,  Abdulrahmon for his remarkable achievement, calling him an exemplary member of the society.

He revealed that Abdulrahmon, who served as the Assistant Director of Studies for MSSN’s Igbogbo-Baiyeku Area Council, had played an instrumental role in overseeing academic programs, extramural classes, and competitions within the council.

“Abdulrahmon’s success is a reflection of his unwavering dedication, as well as the collective commitment of MSSN members toward academic excellence.

Abdulrahmon, a passionate and dedicated member of MSSN, has consistently demonstrated strong leadership and academic prowess, making his achievement as One-Day Governor a proud moment for the entire society,” Abiona said.

In addition to celebrating Abdulrahmon’s accomplishment, the MSSN Lagos expressed appreciation to Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for his commitment to providing an ICT laboratory at Oriwu Senior Model College in Ikorodu.

The Society called for the expansion of this initiative to other state-owned schools, recognising the critical importance of ICT in today’s educational landscape and advocating for widespread tech-enabled learning across Lagos.

MSSN Lagos also commended the First Lady of Lagos State, Dr Claudiana Sanwo-Olu, for her initiatives aimed at empowering students.

However, the society called for further efforts to combat examination malpractice, pledging its support to work collaboratively with the government in promoting educational integrity and enhancing student development across the state.

Also, MSSN Lagos congratulated all other members of the One-Day Governor’s cabinet who excelled in various competitions, earning their place in the cabinet and contributing to the overall success of the initiative.
