ALTON president to lead discussions at telecoms summit



The President of the Association of Telecoms Companies of Nigeria, Tony Emoekpere, has announced that he will deliver the keynote address at the upcoming Nigerian Telecommunication and Innovation Conference.

The event, organised by the OAU/NCC Centre of Excellence in Telecommunication, will take place from December 1 to December 3, at the African Centre of Excellence Conference Hall, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

He announced this in a statement on Saturday.

“I am honored to be the keynote speaker at the Nigerian Telecommunication and Innovation Conference, organized by the OAU/NCC Centre of Excellence in Telecommunication at my alma mater, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,” Emoekpere said.

The theme for this year’s conference, “Communications, Optimization, Networking, and Emerging Concepts in Telecommunication,” will focus on key topics such as 5G/6G networks, Artificial Intelligence, green communication, cybersecurity, and rural connectivity.

Emoekpere highlighted the importance of the theme in shaping Nigeria’s telecom and digital landscape.

“The theme for this year, ‘Communications, Optimization, Networking, and Emerging Concepts in Telecommunication,’ is not just timely but critical for shaping the future of Nigeria’s telecom and digital landscape.

“Together, we will explore cutting-edge trends such as 5G/6G networks, AI, green communication, cybersecurity, and rural connectivity,” he added.

The summit will bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the telecommunications sector.

Emoekpere emphasised the need for constructive dialogues to advance Nigeria’s telecom innovation.

“Let’s drive meaningful conversations and chart a path forward for sustainable telecom innovation,” he said.
