Dental technologists inaugurate state officers in Ebonyi


The Ebonyi State chapter of the Association of Dental Technologists of Nigeria, ADTN, has elected maiden executives who will pilot the affairs of the medical body for the next two years.

The exercise took place at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital, AE-FETHA 1, on Monday.

Speaking shortly after the election, the chairman of the electoral committee, Onyemaobi Marcus, congratulated the winners and thanked members for their professional conduct during and after the exercise.

He commended the new executives, adding that those elected have shown credibility in character and profession, praying for God’s wisdom to enable them to deliver on the given mandate.

In his inaugural speech, the new state chairman, Akam Chigbogu, who emerged unopposed, described their victory as divine and promised a result-orientated administration.

He pledged to ensure all-inclusive governance and urged members for maximum support to enable him to achieve the objective of the association in the state.

“I’m stepping forward as your wish to serve this noble profession, and for me, it’s a big honour bestowed on my shoulder with a lot of tasks ahead but we believe that with your support as always, we’ll be able to get formidable results.

“My reign will be result-orientated, and it will be open for everybody to contribute to the development of this union. All I seek is your maximum support, as we’ll do everything within our reach to make sure that all the affairs, including educational and clinical, are carried out,” he said.

On her part, the newly elected secretary, Awo Agatha, applauded members for their turnout and promised to give her best in the interest of the union in the state.

Also, the caretaker committee secretary, Mr Azubuike Mgbebu, said that the emergence of the chapter in Ebonyi is a welcome development, adding that the new executives were elected based on their antecedents and praying that they help uplift the image of the profession in the state.
