Foundation distributes school bags to less-privileged children

In celebration of this year’s International Charity Day, ForexTime, in partnership with Karis and Eleos Hand of Hope Foundation, has provided educational materials to support primary and secondary school students as the new academic session begins.

The event took place over the weekend at Bright Achievers School in Bariga, Lagos, where over 500 underprivileged children received school bags, writing materials, pencils, biros, rulers, school sandals, exercise books, and other essential items.

In addition to benefiting the children, the initiative extended to their families, who received food items, clothing, shoes, sanitary pads, and household materials.

This support aims to alleviate the financial burden many families are facing amid the current economic challenges in Nigeria.

Program Manager of Karis and Eleos Foundation, Chikezie Ekechukwu, highlighted the purpose of the event, stating that it was designed to assist less-privileged parents and caregivers in preparing their children for school.

He emphasised that providing these materials would help students stay focused on their education and succeed in their academic endeavours.

“Our organisation recognises the need to mitigate the impact of economic hardship by providing essential learning materials to children in underserved communities. Many children in remote areas lack the basic tools needed to excel in school, and we are committed to ensuring they receive the support necessary for a brighter future,” Ekechukwu said.

FXTM Education Coordinator for Lagos, Adaeze Uzochukwu, explained that the partnership with Karis and Eleos Foundation was motivated by a shared goal of enhancing the learning experience for disadvantaged children.

“Our collaboration with the NGO reflects our dedication to fostering a better educational environment for those in need,” Uzochukwu noted.

Founder and Executive Director of the foundation, Bukola Bamiduro, underscored the importance of quality education as a cornerstone for community success.

“We recognise the critical need for support in communities like Bariga, where many students lack basic educational materials. Our mission is to help bridge this gap and contribute to the educational development of these children,” Bamiduro remarked.
