MTN, Zoom launch new video conferencing platform



MTN Nigeria, in collaboration with Zoom Video Communications and SpeechLogix, has launched Meetings+, a video conferencing platform, designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.

According to the General Manager of MTN Business, Charles Okonkwo, at the unveiling of Meetings+ in Lagos recently, the video conference platform is a gateway to a more connected and prosperous future for Nigerian businesses.

He stated that the platform offered a user-friendly and reliable experience, integrating video, voice, and chat functionalities across various devices, from desktops and mobile phones to conference room systems.

He noted that the seamless integration leveraged Zoom’s best-in-class video conferencing technology combined with MTN’s robust network infrastructure.

Okonkwo remarked that the partnership with SpeechLogix and Zoom emerged from a shared commitment to tackle the challenge of payment constraints and offer flexible packages for short and ad-hoc engagements.

“Now, users can easily and more conveniently pay for online engagements or meetings in naira, subscribing to short sessions, with a bundled data allowance for meetings.

“This is a revolutionary way to conduct business and drive efficiency, increase accessibility, and foster progress, and we are here to enable businesses to adapt seamlessly to the future,” he explained.

He added that the strategic alliance with SpeechLogix and Zoom underscored MTN’s commitment to redefining the traditional business landscape, which aligned with MTN’s ambition to lead in the digital transformation of businesses, particularly SMEs.

The Head of Global Sales at SpeechLogix, Haitham El-Hanafi, said, “Speech Logix and Zoom teamed up to bring a platform designed to help operators boost their revenue.

“The Zoom video technology and the SpeechLogix innovative modules combine a truly all-in-one platform that is deployed in less than 60 days,” he enunciated.

The Head of SME Segment, Enterprise Business at MTN Nigeria, Omowunmi Olatunbosun, underscored the platform’s user-friendly design and affordability.

According to Olatunbosun, Meetings+ offers a familiar and convenient payment experience, allowing users to pay in naira through the telco’s popular mobile money platform, MoMo, or via the MyMTN NG app.
