Oyo unveils first batch of newly recruited teachers, caregivers



The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board has released the names of 5,600 newly recruited primary school teachers and 80 caregivers in the state.

The SUBEB Chairman, Nureni Adeniran, who announced this in Ibadan, the state capital, on Friday, explained that the list had been duly approved by the state Governor, Seyi Makinde.

“The newly appointed teachers and caregivers are the first batch of successful applicants from the recent recruitment exercise carried out by the board,” he said.

“The list will be uploaded on the portal and will be available for candidates to check from Saturday, November 23, 2024.

“The 5,600 successful teaching applicants and 80 caregivers will undergo a verification exercise at the board’s headquarters.”

Adeniran added that the dates for the verification exercise, as well as other relevant information, would be provided to the successful candidates in due course.

He stressed that the recruitment process was free of political, religious, ethnic, or gender bias, stressing that the exercise was based solely on merit.

The chairman urged the newly recruited teachers to view their employment as a call to duty, encouraging them to make the most of the opportunity by being diligent and dedicated to their responsibilities.

The SUBEB chairman also assured that the recruitment exercise would continue, with more successful applicants to be employed in due course.
