UCL: Why Man City lost 2-0 to Juventus – Guardiola

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said they lost to Juventus in the Champions League, because they were not sharp enough in the final third and got caught on the break.

Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie both scored for the Serie A giants, as they claimed a famous 2-0 win over City on Wednesday night.

The result means Guardiola’s men have only won one game in their last 10 in all competitions.

More importantly, the Premier League champions are in 22nd place and in danger of early elimination from the league phase.

“We played really, really good, we missed the last pass and action when we arrived, we conceded a few, the transitions happened,” Guardiola told reporters.

“But I am so proud of these players, they gave everything and tried and now we live in this period, but hopefully we can change with good results.

“I know it is difficult, it is always difficult in the Champions League, but we played really good.

“We have two games and need one point maybe, one victory with the last one at home – we lost it against Feyenoord and Inter Milan, when we played really good again and that is what created the problems.”
